Ball control & technique challenges

These volleyball challenges are perfect to use during training, but players can also practice them at home. By repeating these ball control challenges regularly, players improve their coordination, technique and control faster.

Pass Pro

Passing drill for improving ball control.

Play the ball twice with your forearms against the wall and then switch arms. This drill improves arm strength and passing control.

Setters Showdown

Setter coordination challenge.

Bounce the ball twice on the floor. Then set the ball twice overhead. Let the ball bounce on the floor between your arms. Then set the ball twice overhead while sitting on your left knee.

Hitting Hustle

Coordination drill for attacking control.

Play the ball upward with the inside of your hand and hit it against the wall. Then play the ball upward with your other hand and hit it against the wall.

Power Passer

Passing drill combined with coordination.

Pass the ball up. Let the ball bounce and touch the inside of your foot with your hand. Alternate between both feet.

Skill Shuffle

Ball control and coordination drill.

Bounce the volleyball continuously. Throw the tennis ball against the wall and let it bounce once before catching it. Keep bouncing the volleyball during the exercise.
